How to Remove "New Friends" Notices on Facebook

Facebook made some changes a couple of days ago to their news feed which has left folks seeing a lot of unwanted messages.  One of these messages relates to folks accepting friend requests.  The message looks like this:"John Smith and Jane Doe are now friends".If you don't want to see these messages, you can easily change this.
